IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!

Happy Birthday to me! :D

So, instead of posting a project today, I'm going to take my birthday off and just post some artwork my kids have drawn.

My second oldest son, Corey, who just graduated drew this picture of Synyster Gates from the band Avenged Sevenfold:

And he drew this picture of his girlfriend. The picture is kind of blurry because we used a cell phone camera to take the picture:

My third oldest son, Tyler, drew this picture although he was just messing around. He's a pretty good artist also:

So, anyway, I'm getting older and I think somewhat wiser. LOL! Thanks for stopping by again. Hope you stop back soon.

Star Trek Birthday Card

Hello! Check me out, posting again so soon! :)

I was going through some cards/projects I made recently trying to decide what I should post about and decided I had to share this card. It's one of my favorites of all the cards that I have made. I try to make birthday cards every year for my co-workers. They seem to really appreciate the creativity and time I put into the cards even though they are all designers like me. :)

One of these co-workers/friends is really into Star Trek among other things and out of the blue, I thought up this Star Trek card. I asked one of my sons (I have very artistic kids) to draw a hand (I'm not so good at drawing) giving the Vulcan Salute (I looked that up). I also had him draw the Starfleet Communicator Badge (looked that up too). I cut out both the hand and the badge and colored them with my colored pencils.

I then put together a center step card and added the hand on an Action Wobble and the badge in the upper corner. I didn't have a stamp that went with the card, so I had my husband write a saying in his best block handwriting. There were many of us involved in the making of this card.  :)

I think it turned out pretty cool and I was very proud of my creation. Here is a picture.

Thanks for stopping by and leave me a comment if you wish. I'd love to hear from you. Stop back tomorrow if you can. Tomorrow is a special day for me. :)

My Busy Life

Hey Everyone!

Thanks for stopping by today. I'm trying to get back to blogging more than once a month, so we'll see how I do. I've been making lots of projects lately, but finding time to upload them to my blog has been difficult.

A little bit of what I've been up to.... I've been going to my local Farmer's Market every Saturday from 7 am as soon as I get there until about noon unless it rains. I've been selling my cards, some hair bows and some microwavable heat packs made out of socks and some made out of flannel. It's been fun hanging out with my work friends who also have been selling different items at the Farmer's Market. I'll try to upload some pictures of what I've been selling at a later date.

My granddaughter turned 1 on April 13th and on May 11th, we threw her a birthday party. I think she had fun. Here is her birthday card I made. Her parents call her "monkey" and I was going with an animal print theme for her party. The monkey is actually on an Action Wobble so it looks like he's swinging.

Her cake was special ordered from Wal-Mart.

And here is the birthday girl. Just click on the picture to enlarge it to see the detail better.

I took a onesie and cut some purple material (with iron on adhesive on the back) out on my cricut in the shape of a one. I ironed it on, did some zig zag stitching around the edges and added some buttons in one corner. I also made ruffles and sewed them onto the back of the shorts and sewed on the ribbon that I had tied into a bow. I forgot to bring a bow for her hair. :(

Here is her birthday banner that I cut using my cricut.

And here is one of her gifts that she got from us. We love horses in our family. My youngest son and my mom both have horses, so we thought it would be fun to get her a rocking/bouncy horse and it makes noises too.

And then last but not least, I've been helping my kids finish up their last days of school before summer break. I still have three sons at home and they go to three different schools. My second oldest just graduated. Yay! Two down, two to go and one of those will be next year already.  :)

Here is my graduate:

Well, that is all I am going to share for today, but I will be starting to post my projects so check back often. Thanks for checking in with me today and I'd love for you to leave me a comment.  :)
